What an unfortunate state of affairs we have found ourselves in. Popular Catholic apologists, particular those in the United States, have all but abandoned everything that bears the hint of tradition. Among these tragedies one may count the abandonment of historical Catholic social teaching, particularly that which may be found in the encyclicals. Rather than submitting to the papal wisdom delivered to the Church over the ages, they have joyfully embraced the malarkey of modern theorists such as Charles Krauthammer, William Kristol, Fred Barnes, and any other neo-goon over at The Weekly Standard, National Review, or FOX News. The tomfoolery is as pathetic as it is pervasive… which is saying more than I’d like to admit.
